Elementary School Rain Forest Canopy (Emergent): The rain forest canopy is the richest area of the rain forest. A variety of species have adapted to the canopy that were previously thought to be ground dwellers – crabs, worms, kangaroos, porcupines and frogs. The plant life is also very rich and includes many creepers, vines and lianas. The majority of trees in the canopy depend on animals for seed dispersal; bees, butterflies, moths, birds and bats are all pollinators.
