Temperate rainforests are different than tropical in that they inhabit the temperate zone versus near the equator. Temperate rainforests receive large amounts of rain and have seasonal temperature changes. The temperate rainforest soil is rich in nutrients due to an abundance of dead organic material on the ground that is constantly being digested by bacteria, insects and fungi.
