Photographer's Note
Another interesting fungi from the Royal National Park. This time I present a young orange Cyptotrama asprata that I found growing on a fallen log in the rainforest. This one was about 2cm high, however when they are fully mature they can be 4cm high and 6cm across. They are a fairly common fungi through south-eastern Australia and occur in moist eucalypt and rainforest through autumn an winter after rain. The species is also well known from North and South America.
